Geoff and I went on a weekend away to Marysville/Healsville area in about october this year. It was a lovely town, we took Lucy and she had a great time walking around the caravan site. We got to see a little bit of Marysville itself and I was planning to go back this year.

"Up to 80 per cent of Marysville has been reported destroyed, including several hotels and the popular tourist attraction Bruno's Art and Sculpture Garden, and one resident says at least five locals have died.
Bruce Morrow, who owns Marysville Getaways, said he believed at least five people had died in the town, including two young parents who chose to stay behind, an elderly couple and another person."

:( I cannot imagine how it must feel to not only lose your home, but friends or family and an entire community in just one day :(

And this is just one of the towns that this has happened to.

I've stayed in Marysville a number of times, as a child growing up with my parents, and more recently with Jess and Dee just before Jess moved to Perth. It was a beautiful little town. This is so very tragic, as are all the losses. I've been in tears reading about it online today.

I struggle to comprehend how the affected must be feeling as well.
